Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation Workers Join CUPE 87
Thunder Bay, Ont. – Through a Sale of Business in April of 2010, Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation came under the umbrella of the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board. Due to the sale of business, a representation vote was requested by the Employer to determine which union would represent all of the union members employed at the Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation and the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board. CUPE 87 and IBEW 339 were the Unions representing the workers.
CUPE Local 87 is pleased to announce that we were successful in the representation vote and will now be representing the union workers at Thunder Bay District Housing Corporation as well the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board. Click Here for more information.
Cupe 87 is one of the largest municipal Locals in CUPE with 620 members working for the City of Thunder Bay. Cupe 87 also represents members in Schreiber, Marathon, Ignace, Nipigon, Neebing, Shuniah, Conmee and O'Connor as well as Ontario Works employees in the Thunder Bay District Social Services Administration Board.
